Corporate governance and oversight at Genus extend beyond compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They provide a framework for establishing and maintaining a culture of business integrity, accountability, and responsible business practices.
The Genus Board of Directors provides management oversight and guides the firm’s strategic direction.
Established in 2008, the board is chaired by founding partner, Leslie G. Cliff, who also serves as Director of Wealth Management. The board includes founding partner Wayne Wachell, who serves as CEO and Chief Investment Officer, and J.P. Harrison, Partner and President. Ken Woods, an outside shareholder of the firm, serves as an advisor to the board.
As a Vancouver, B.C. firm established in 1989, we remain independently owned by our partners. We are proud to be one of the few investment management companies who can offer advice that is free from outside business influences. As a Genus client, it’s also nice to know that our portfolio managers earn no more or less based on the recommendations they make. In other words, your success is our success and you can be certain we will always put your interests first.
Genus is a member in good standing with the Portfolio Management Association of Canada (PMAC). The association is the representative organization for Investment Counsel and Portfolio Managers in Canada. Member firms are only in the business of managing investments for clients in keeping with each client’s needs and objectives and risk tolerance.
