Mike Thiessen – Chief Sustainability Officer & Partner
As Chief Sustainability Officer, I oversee allocation of our sustainable initiatives, including the research and portfolio construction that goes into this.
I’m passionate about environmental and social issues, I need to make an impact with my career.
Outside work, I value spending time with my wife and three kids.
Simon Senécal – Portfolio Manager, Responsible Investment, Partner
Alpha Fixe Capital
As Portfolio Manager, Simon works on developing the Green Bond Fund that allows AlphaFixe to expand its influence in responsible investment. Simon oversees the ESG analysis and develops the necessary management tools to measure the portfolios’ carbon footprint and assess climate risks. Simon is also involved in the firm’s investment strategy as well as customer service.
Prior to joining AlphaFixe Capital, Simon worked as an Investment and Treasury Manager at Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ), where he oversaw various external mandates. In addition, he was a member of the Sustainable Development Committee. Simon also worked at the Treasury of Desjardins Group as Credit Analyst.
Simon holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Sherbrooke University and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from UQAM. He also holds a Sustainable Investment Professional Certification from Concordia University.
Wayne Wachell – Executive Chairperson, Chief Investment Officer & Co-Founder
Co-founding Genus and creating one of Canada’s first fossil free funds has been a tremendously thrilling accomplishment.
My mantra is simple: focus on adding value for your clients, everything else will follow.
In my down-time I enjoy reading history and geopolitics, or spending time with my wife and two granddaughters.
Justin Hahn – Macro Strategist
I am a Macro Strategist. My focus is on economic research and tactical asset allocation.
Innovation, time management, and efficiency are key values to good work.
Taking in the great outdoors is my favourite pastime, whether it is hiking or camping.
