Genus has become a proud recipient of the Climate Smart certification.
What it means:
Climate Smart operates to enable small and medium businesses to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, participate in building, better, stronger, more resilient low-carbon economy, and achieve cost savings in the process.
At Genus, we are proud to be part of a growing network of 1000+ businesses and organizations, both in Canada and the US, who are Climate Smart certified. To date, Climate Smart certified businesses have achieved an average of 24% emissions reductions against baseline, and $4.7 million (CAD) in total cost savings.
Our 2020 Results:
Compared to 2019, we reduced our emissions by a whopping 70%*
- We achieved this primarily by reducing our GHG emissions from transportation and paper and paper use.
- Our reductions against the baseline are equivalent to 9 fewer passenger vehicles driven for one year
Genus will continue working with Climate Smart to further the reduction of our carbon footprint, helping achieve collective climate action on an organizational level.
